Maeglin Vest

This vest is pretty much just a basic body block pattern, extended down so the vest is about knee length. The only "fancy" additions I did were the collar and decorative darts down the front.  It fastens only to the waist in the front, and is slit to the waist up the sides and back, giving four "tails". When I was first making this I called it my "swordsman's vest", and had the idea to put weights along the bottom hem so the tails would fly out when I spun around, but I never quite got that far... It is very tightly fitted (approximate measurements are chest 31", waist 25") and binding, since I was aiming for it to give me a more masculine shape. Back length from just below collar to waist is 17".

The outer fabric is a multicolour large-pattern Chinese brocade, and the lining is gold crepe. Both fabrics are 100% polyester, but I wouldn't say they're machine washable (maybe hand washable?). The armholes are edged with double-layer red and black poly-cotton blend bias tape. The vest fastens up the front with hook and eye closures.

Price for this is $70 "as is". It has been worn twice at conventions but has no spots, stains, tears, etc.

Price for a similar style made new is $70 plus fabric costs.
