All costumes shown here have been constructed by me over the past several years, from 2003 to present. I've reorganized things into a few new categories to separate outfits by fandom origin and original designs vs. reproductions. Have a look and click on the images below for photos, construction notes and me whining about how frustrating my hobby is! All costumes in each category are listed in chronological order from oldest to newest based on completion/date first worn.

Tolkien Book-Based	Lord of the Rings
Artanis One of the first costumes I ever made, this dress used Butterick pattern 3552. Fabric is embroidered off-white sheer lined with ivory silk-look. Extensive silver beading around neckline and cuffs. Originally worn at Gathering of the Fellowship 2003.	Celebrían (Galadriel Adaptation) Dress based on McCall's 4491 with adaptations. Fabric is embroidered chiffon entirely beaded by hand. Originally worn at Gathering of the Fellowship 2006.
Thranduil (1) Three-part costume involving faux suede pants, taffeta-like tunic, and large silk-look robe. Originally worn at Gathering of the Fellowship 2003, the various pieces have been recycled many times for many other costumes.	Elrond (1) The pink duppioni silk robe is movie-based, while the metallic Japanese brocade sash is an original design. The first incarnation of this costume, worn at Dragon*Con 2007, did not include the burgundy burnout velvet drape (which was stolen a few years later from Lady of Rivendell).
Finrod (1) Four-part costume with duppioni silk and shirt (taffeta undersleeves), brocade coat and silk-look sash. Originally worn at Master of the Ring and RingCon 2004. Like Thranduil 1, pieces of this costume have been recycled for use with other outfits over the years.	Legolas Faux suede jerkin, duppioni silk shirt, pants borrowed from Thranduil 1. Originally worn at Dragon*Con 2008.
Maeglin Costume involves a black ming jacquard vest worn over Finrod 1's pants(above) and a purchased black ming jacquard shirt. Only worn at Master of the Ring and RingCon 2004.	Arwen Chase Dress Faux suede dress with organza sash ties, underskirt and sleeve lining. Originally worn at Dragon*Con 2011.
Celegorm Worn over pants from Finrod 1 (above) and shirt from Finarfin 2 below, this costume is a red faux suede vest with black bias edging, hand embroidered at the bottom front. Originally worn at Gathering of the Fellowship 2006.	Gil-galad (in progress) Completed so far: dark blue cotton pants and shirt, blue "skirt" with gold trim, blue sash drape with gold embroidered device, blue underarm drapes with extensive swirling gold embroidery, chainmail hauberk (not shown). Fun foam armor under construction. To be worn at Dragon*Con 2012.
Fëanor This costume, inspired by the many lovely outfits worn by Prince Humperdinck in The Princess Bride, includes a full circle "skirt", cape-like velvet sleeves and beaded mid-section. Worn over the silver silk Legolas shirt (though this costume was completed in full before Legolas). Originally worn at Gathering of the Fellowship 2006.	The Hobbit
	Elrond (2) (in progress) Purple coat as seen in production videos for The Hobbit. Coat is purple brocade with metal buttons, sleeves lined with pale gray. To be worn at Dragon*Con 2012.
Finarfin (1) Finarfin 1 (Gold) began as a test mock-up for a pattern I was working on at the time. It turned out well despite the terrible $3 clearance gold fabric used, so I kept it. The gold robe is paired with the tunic and drape from Thranduil 1 and corded sash from Finrod 1. Only worn for Halloween 2005.	Movies - Other
	White Swan (Odette) Tutu, beaded silk bodice and feathered headpiece from the movie Black Swan. Worn at Dragon*Con 2011.
Finarfin (2) Finarfin 2 (Red) is a deep red silk robe with tiny covered buttons up the front. Robe has petal-wrap raglan sleeves, and is worn with a gold brocade shirt and quilted silk sash. Originally worn at Gathering of the Fellowship 2006.	Narcissa Malfoy Ankle-length black coat in a snake-like embossed suiting knit, from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. Originally worn for opening night of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 and Dragon*Con 2011.
Lady of Númenor Pale gold crushed satin dress with built-in corset. Large, draping sleeves have an inner layer of green organza. The dress fastens from neckline to waist with hooks and falls open from waist to floor. Worn over Finrod 1's pants (above). Originally worn at Gathering of the Fellowship 2006.	Comic Book
	Catwoman Fitted one-piece purple vinyl bodysuit with back zipper and separate hood/mask. Originally worn at Dragon*Con 2011.
Erestor The charcoal gray faux suede coat is fully lined and has very large sleeves with extensive beading around the cuffs. Worn over a teal silk tunic and teal faux suede pants. I have never actually worn this costume at any convention, but it has been worn by two other people at Dragon*Con 2008 and ConVersion 2010.	Video Game / Anime
	Dark Goddess Althena Multi-part costume has body suit, skirt, armored boots and gloves, cape and hat. Constructed from satin and heavy weight craft interfacing. Originally worn at Dragon*Con 2011.
Glorfindel Like Celegorm (above), the only piece of this costume specific to Glorfindel is the tabard. It can and has been worn over the shirt from either Thranduil1 or Finarfin 2, and pants from Thranduil 1 or Finrod 1. Originally worn at Dragon*Con 2008.	Historical
	Tudor Gown Brown velveteen gown with gold sleeve lining. Gold brocade under sleeves and skirt, white cotton false chemise sleeves with blackwork embroidery on cuffs. Brown, black and gold gable hood. Originally worn at Dragon*Con 2009.
Lady of Lothlórien This two-part costume has an under dress of very pale sage green lightweight satin and an over dress of heavy pale green satin that fastens with a single clasp at the front. Originally worn at Dragon*Con 2009.	Restoration Gown Gold silk bodice with lace and floral embroidery is worn with bronze silk over skirt and dark blue under skirt. Originally worn at Dragon*Con 2009.
Lady of Rivendell Worn with the under dress from Lady of Lothlórien (above), this outfit has a fuchsia silk sleeveless knee-length tunic and large, draping robe of burgundy burnout velvet. Worn with Elrond 1's sash. Originally worn at Dragon*Con 2009.	18th Century Gown Purple-green cationic silk gown and skirt with purple-green ribbon trim, ivory lace, and gold-green stomacher. Originally worn at Dragon*Con 2010.
Son of Fëanor This costume was first titled Maedhros, then reassigned to Maglor when I changed my hair color from auburn to dark brown. The black surcoat has a white and silver 8-pointed star appliqué on the chest and silver trim at the hem. Held at the waist with a long leather belt. Originally worn at Dragon*Con 2009.
Gildor Inglorion Terra cotta faux suede jerkin is lined with deep orange brocade and features reverse appliqué to show off blue silk interlining. Worn over Finarfin 2's shirt and Erestor's pants with a long brown leather belt. Originally worn at Dragon*Con 2010.
Finrod (2) Finrod 2 uses the same coat from Finrod 1 and Thranduil 1's pants, but features a new brown faux suede tunic with metallic embroidery and leather lacing on the lower sleeves. Originally worn at Dragon*Con 2010.
Lady of Mirkwood Bronze silk dress is made from fabric recycled from the Restoration Gown over skirt and has a deep green sash, false chemise, and lower sleeves. Originally worn at Dragon*Con 2011.
Thranduil (2) Pale sage faux suede drape has a beaded capelet and decorative sashes with reverse appliqué to show woven ribbon interlining. Lightweight green jacquard tunic is worn with filmy crepe pants and Finrod 1's sash. Originally worn at A Long Expected Party 2011.
Fingolfin (in progress) Fingolfin's tunic is recycled from a thrift store salwaar kameez. It will be paired with a gold silk robe and embroidered sash with heraldic appliqué. To be worn at Dragon*Con 2012.
Miscellaneous
Gil-galad's Cheerleader Cheerleader costume is made up of a miniskirt and crop top, both of dark blue cotton embossed with stars. Neckline drape and gold trim on skirt and top are based on Gil-galad's armor (in the goofiest possible way, of course). Originally worn at Dragon*Con 2010.
Quilting and Appliqué Quilt squares and other crafty things I've done, including some Fëanorian appliqué on muggle clothes.
Aprons Custom designed aprons made from pretty printed cotton.
Elven Bead Circlet An elven circlet constructed from cheap supplies I bought from teen girl accessory stores at the mall. Worn at Dragon*Con 2010.
Tetris Dress Purchased dress with iron-on Tetris decoration cut from chain trim. Originally made for Dragon*Con 2009, though it's since worked its way into my everyday wardrobe.
Ar-Pharazon? The costume that never was. Brown velveteen robe with blue ming jacquard sleeves, this was made for Dragon*Con 2007 but was never worn as intended. Later the lower half was recycled into the skirt for my Tudor gown.

Maglor (1) Black tunic with white and silver 8-pointed star appliqué. (Shown here without sleeves over Finrod 2's shirt, though sleeves were added.)	Maedhros Long black surcoat with white and silver 8-pointed star appliqué. Shown here over Elrond 1's robe.
Maglor (2) Green-brown faux suede tunic with sash and lining of brown brocade. Green trim at hem. Decorative lacing up the side.	Lúthien Purple velveteen gown with lavender jacquard trim and ivory chiffon sleeves. Gold and silver beading on trim. Lacing up the back.
Legolas Faux suede jerkin with painted silver scrollwork designs. Shown with my Legolas shirt and pants.	Legolas Pyjamas Two-tone green cotton with silver snaps up the front.
Arwen - Purple Satin Purple satin dress with pink under skirt and sash. Large sleeves have second layer of pink organza.	Arwen - Blue Velvet Deep blue velvet dress with silver sash and chemise. Long, narrow sleeves lined with pale blue satin.
Arwen - White Crepe White cotton crepe over dress with silver trim and silver under dress. Silver embroidery and beading on the bodice front.	Hobbit Bodice Dark brown reversed corduroy boned bodice with ivory piping. Free motion quilting with tulip motif on front panel. Laces up the back.
Spartan Queen Off-white crepe dress with brown ribbon trim (made twice).	Hogwarts Robes Shown: Ravenclaw with Hogwarts crest. Also constructed: Ravenclaw with Ravenclaw crest, Slytherin without crest. Black robes with colored cotton lining and covered button front closure.
Kimono Ballgown Red satin ballgown with semi-attached kimono style sleeves. Black ming jacquard trim and obi-corset.
